Punjabi Folk Music encompass a large range of traditional instruments that are used in folk music and dance, such as Bhangra and Giddha. These instruments and music represent the deep and vibrant culture of Punjab and have played an important role in connecting youth and adults to their heritage and Punjabi roots.

Folk Music
The Royal Academy of Bhangra offers classes in Folk Music that teach Folk singing, Sufi singing, Dholki, Tabla, Tumbi, Algooza, Bugchu, Dhadd, and many more. This is a certification program through Langara College.
Folk Music Classes:
- Introduction to Punjabi Folklore
- Introduction to Folk music such as: Maahia, Dhola, Tappe, Jindua, Jugni, Chhalla, Jhumar, Boliyaan, Kavishri, Vaar-gayan, Kissa-gayan, Dhadi-gayaan, folk songs related to social ceremonies and celebrations
- Practical knowledge of basic talas (rhythmic cycles) and basic ragas (melodic modes).
