Hardeep Singh Sahota
Hardeep Sahota is the General Manager of Royal Academy of Bhangra and the First Certified Bhangra Instructor in Canada under the CTDA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association). Through Royal Academy of Bhangra, he has raised the bar for bhangra institutes, bringing a professional and strategic structure to teaching and showcasing Punjabi Folk Bhangra, not only in Surrey BC, but on provincial, national and international stages. Hardeep Sahota has participated, judged, coached and produced Bhangra events and festivals all over the world since 2008.Anita Lal
Anita Lal is the Business Development Manager at Royal Academy of Bhangra. Anita is actively involved in community development as a Director for A-Town Presents, Seva Thrift Society’s Board of Directors, Canadian Blood Services Donor Relations Department and previously as the Executive Director at Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration (VIBC). Her passion for advocacy, cultural diversity and creating inclusive spaces keeps her motivated and has made her a strong and relevant voice in the community.
Deeksha Arora
Deeksha Arora is the Senior Instructor at Royal Academy of Bhangra. She has been an integral part of the Royals for more than four years. Deeksha is a certified Giddha Instructor through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA). She loves working and instructing students of all ages and is very passionate towards dance. She enters national and international bhangra competitions with the Senior Royal Queenz team, and has won several awards. Deeksha is currently enrolled in the Criminology and Child Psychology Degree program at Simon Fraser University and is looking forward to her graduate studies.
Nimer Panag
Nimer Panag is a Dance Instructor at Royal Academy of Bhangra since 2012. She also competes with the Senior Royal Queenz. She began as a student of the Academy, her passion and dedication to the art led her to become a volunteer and then take on a more leadership role as an Instructor. Nimer says that being a part of the Royals is more like being with family than work. She joyful environment and enthusiastic children is what motivates and makes her happy! She is currently completing her BSN working towards becoming a pediatric nurse.
